Confident girl boss at the salon

Picture this…

Your salon is packed full of clients, you have a brand new guest in your chair, and they tell you, “do whatever you want”. (Sounds like the perfect client right?)

You start to finish up the style, you set the right products aside, and just as you’re recommending when to come back, the client tells you, “I’ll just call.”

Womp, womp…we have all been there. Sometimes they do call, but most of the time they don’t want to prebook is due to a disconnect somewhere in the service.

Successful Stylist Academy

Director of Community, Jamie Ferero, who is a senior stylist of 10 years uncovers the perfect formula to amazing client care with the 5 C’s. She recently joined us on the podcast (tap on image to listen), but we also wanted to give you the cliff notes as a great reminder when you’re on the go!

The 5 C’s

  1. Consultation: This is your guide in making sure your appointment runs successfully. Ask what’s working and not working. Repeat back what you hear.

  2. Categorize: Who is your client & what are they into? Knowing your perfect client will make the communication run more smoothly & attract the right people for you.

  3. Change: Clients come to you because you’re the specialist. Make suggestions, plant seeds, and inspire your clients to look forward to coming back.

  4. Choose retail: We give solutions & we need to give them the choice. By educating our clients, they will walk away feeling empowered & wanting more.

  5. Cheer them on & coordinate: Take the time to show & teach your clients. Let them feel the products, put the tools in their hands & walk them through how replicate what you can do.

Boundaries, Beliefs, & Balance

Like all great things, practice makes permanent & just like the 5 C’s, we have an amazing mini course to help you step up your verbiage, & gain more confidence with the 3 B’s: Boundaries, Beliefs, & Balance.
